The Osage City Police Department is looking to hire two full-time Police Patrol Officers to join our dedicated team.

We provide 24/7 service to a community of approximately 2,800 residents located 30 minutes southwest of Topeka along K31 Highway. Our department consists of seven full-time officers, including the Chief of Police.

What We’re Looking For

We seek candidates with the highest integrity, strong self-motivation, and a commitment to community-oriented policing. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Benefits

The City offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Compensation

  • Starting at $20.50 per hour (increases by $1.00/hour after KLETC completion)
  • Up to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, training, and qualifications
  • Bi-weekly pay on Fridays

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED
  • High moral character and integrity
  • No Brady/Giglio violations
  • No KSCPOST sanctions or disqualifications
  • KLETC certification preferred

Additional Requirements

Applicants must pass:

  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Physical and psychological assessments
  • Oral and written exams
  • Extensive background investigation (no felony convictions, domestic violence offenses, DUIs, or serious misdemeanor convictions)
