The Belle Plaine Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. The open position is for a night shift which is typically 5pm -5am. Applicants must be 21 years of age, US citizen, High School diploma or GED equivalent, valid Kansas Driver’s License, no Felony or serious Misdemeanor arrests, and be of good moral character. Must be able to pass a written exam, oral interview, physical exam/drug screen and an extensive background check. Benefits include paid time off, employee and family health insurancecurrentlypaid by employer, holiday pay, etc. Uniforms and equipment provided. Starting wage for no experience/uncertified is $20.00 per hour. State certified and experienced officers would be considered for a higher hourly rate of pay depending on experience and qualifications. Work schedule consists of; 12 hour shifts, 84 scheduled hours for two week pay period. A current State of Kansas certification is preferred, but not required.
