The Gray County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking a motivated individual for Full-Time Patrol Deputy within our agency. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to; patrol work, responding to emergency calls, dispatched calls, conducting investigations, interviewing, gathering evidence, serving warrants, civil process, enforcing traffic laws, enforcing federal and state laws, preparing reports, and the ability to work with the public of Gray County. Deputy in this position must be able to act without direct supervision and exercise independent judgment in handling emergencies. Benefits include take home patrol vehicle, family, or single health insurance with 100% paid premium, dental, and Kansas Police and Fire retirement. Employees will have access to the Wellness Center at the Gray County Recreation Building. Deputies work rotating 12 hour shifts with every other 3-day weekend off. Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Gray County Sheriff's Office will provide uniforms, equipment, duty pistol, rifle, shotgun, laptop computer, department issued cell phone, and Taser 7.

Type: Full Time Only

SALARY: Non-Certified $20.25 per hour.

Certified applicants may start at $21.50 per hour. Other qualifications and training will be considered.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED, must be at least 21 years of age, be a United States Citizen, possess a valid driver's license and have no felony or domestic violence convictions. Certified Kansas Law Enforcement Officer required. County residency is required if hired. Applicants must have no Brady/Giglio material in their background that would make them ineligible for hire. Shift schedules will include, holidays, court appearances and overtime. Applicants will be subject to an oral interview, a thorough background check, and additional conditional job testing. Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Applicant must be able to obtain KSCPOST certification.
