School Resource Officer/Police Officer, Lindsborg Police Department

Lindsborg, Kansas, a city of over 3,700 residents, is seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time school resource officer position for our growing and diverse community.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, the Lindsborg School Resource Officer/Police Officer is a non-exempt position which performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order in the City of Lindsborg. The School Resource Officer/Police Officer is contracted by the Smoky Valley School District USD 400 for the protection of life and property of its students, school staff, and facilities. The employee in this position enforces all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances and assists with some investigations originating out of the schools. Patrol duties, when school is out due to identified breaks, snow days, holidays, etc., will include enforcing traffic laws, investigation of crimes and accidents, and providing public assistance. This employee will be required to exercise initiative and discretion when faced with emergency situations. $5,000 hiring bonus for certified officer (full-time).
