La Cygne is a community of 1050 people in Linn County just off US69 Hwy, proving a quick drive to the KC Metro area. The department consists of 3 Full-Time officers and currently 4 Part-Time positions with an excellent teamwork culture! While small, LCPD emphasizes training and equipment to ensure officers are capable of handling any and all calls with proficiency and accuracy and we are seeking proactive and community policing-oriented persons to join us, part-time!

The part-time shifts consist of Friday evenings and Saturday mornings/evenings and require at least one weekend a month.

There is also an opportunity for 30-36 hours a week, Thursday-Saturday for 15 weeks from the last weekend in May until the second weekend in August (summer months) for a more seasonal position.

Preferred applicants are current or previously certified officers, within their 5-year period. But uncertified may still be eligible!
Uncertified applicants must attend the Kansas Part-Time Academy and complete the Field Training Officer (FTO) process.

$20-$23 per hour DOQ
