K9 Officer, Stafford Police Department

The City of Stafford is looking for a full-time K9 Officer to fill a vacancy.  The City of Stafford is located in Stafford County on HWY 50 west of Hutchinson KS.  The Stafford Police Department consists of 4 full-time officers (including the Police Chief) and two part-time officers.  Police officers currently work a rotational 12-hour shift with varied days/weekends off.  All officers are required to work weekends and holidays as needed.  

Hours: Full Time

Salary:  Salary will be dependent on qualification of the candidate.  This is an hourly paid position with kennel care pay as well.  The City of Stafford offers an excellent benefit package that includes BC/BS Health Insurance, KPERS, paid holidays, paid sick leave, paid vacation and uniforms.  

Qualifications:  The candidate does not need prior K9 experience, but experience is preferred.  Candidate must be law enforcement certified with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.  A valid Kansas Drivers’s License is required.  The ability to perform all required duties, pass all pre-employment tests including physiological, medical, voice stress analysis and drug screens.  

Must relocate to Stafford Kansas.
