This is a Full-Time non-exempt, hourly position under the FLSA within the Police Department with typical hours being Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. The person working in this role is responsible for patrolling, apprehending and impounding animals, enforcing animal control ordinances and regulations and other department support functions.
Salary: $42,705 -61,932 DOQ
Minimum Qualification:
Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must pass a background test, required medical tests, psychological tests and drug screen.
Must have vision correctable to 20/20.
Must have a valid drivers’ license
Job Duties, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Patrols for animal ordinance violations
- Impounds stray animals
- Investigates animal bite cases
- Assists with traffic control
- Prepares police reports
- Takes fingerprints for the public
