The Linn County Sheriff's Office is currently searching for a motivated, certified law enforcement individual for a full-time position as a Deputy. Linn County is located 45 miles south of the greater Kansas City Metro Area. The Linn County Sheriff's Office consists of 24 sworn Deputies in the Law Enforcement Division. The Law Enforcement Division consists of 10-person patrol unit, 6 person School Resource unit, 3 person Investigations unit and 2 person Court Security Division. Individual selected to fill this position will be responsible for enforcing local, state and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations investigating traffic crashes, assisting the public and serving on a TEAM that takes great pride in serving and protecting the community.
Position salary/benefits: Starting pay $22.18. Benefits include: Sick pay, vacation pay, furnished uniforms and equipment, health dental and life insurance plans, take home car, (if individual lives within reasonable miles of the county), and Kansas Police & Fire (KP&F) retirement.
Minimum Requirement for Position: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire, must possess a valid driver's license, must be in good physical condition, have no felony, serious misdemeanor or domestic violence convictions, be a US citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, and must be able to pass a written and oral exam, physical fitness test, physical exam, and psychological exam. Preferences will be given to applicants who are a certified law enforcement officer and have a degree in criminal justice.
