The Paola Police Department is currently searching for motivated individuals for the full-time position of Police Officer.  The City of Paola Is located 18 miles south of Olathe, Kansas and the Greater Kansas City Metro Area.  The Paola Police Department consists of 18 sworn officers and 3 civilian employees.  Those selected to fill this position will be responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic crashes, assisting the public, and serving on a TEAM that takes great pride in serving and protecting its community.  

Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire, must possess a valid driver’s license, must be in good physical condition, have no felony, serious misdemeanor, or domestic violence convictions, be a US citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, and must be able to pass a written and oral exam, physical exam, polygraph and psychological exam.

Pay

Lateral officer pay is based on an applicants' full years of certified LE experience and established with comparable wages of PPD officers.  Non-Certified officer starting pay at $25.49/HR (+2% upon academy graduation). 

Additional pay considerations available DOQ (Including but not limited to: college degree, military experience, bilingual, etc.) Other benefits include sick, vacation, and personal leave, furnished uniforms and equipment, health, dental, and life insurance plans, and Kansas Police & Fire (KP&F) retirement.
