The City of Lyndon will be accepting applications for the position of part time officer to work up to 16 hours a week. Minimum requirements include high school graduate or have GEDEquivalent, 21-years of age at the time of appointment, pass a background check, no criminal record, U.S. Citizen and must hold a valid Kansas driver's license. CPOST certified preferred, but not required.
Duties and responsibilities include enforcing all state and local laws and ordinances; taking calls for service; patrolling business districts and residential neighborhoods to deter and detect crime; investigating complaints; citing and/or arresting law violators; following up on pending reports and cases; protecting person(s) or property; and provides animal control services. When not responding to calls for service, department members are expected to use self-directed work time in an efficient manner by self-initiating work on those tasks identified by supervisory personnel as priorities for this job position.
Base Salary $19.50 - $21.00 per hour and based on qualifications.
