The Barton County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Road Deputy.  Barton County is centrally located with five major highways running through it (US-281, US-56, K-156, K-96 & K-4). Deputies patrol approximately 900 square miles and serve 9 incorporated cities, several unincorporated communities, including the county seat of Great Bend.

TYPE: FULL-TIME

SALARY:

PAY: Starting pay $23.00/hour for non-certified/no experience
Lateral and experienced applicants evaluated on a case-by-case basis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment
Valid Kansas Driver’s License with acceptable driving history
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to pass applicant testing, including:
Background investigation
Psychological exam
Drug screening
Work-fit evaluation
No felony or domestic violence convictions
Must be of good moral character
