 Position Responsibilities

  • Enforce state and local laws
  • Investigate crimes and traffic accidents
  • Provide assistance and protection to the public

 Minimum Requirements

  • 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license
  • U.S. citizen with no criminal record
  • Excellent physical health
  • Strong communication skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Pass background check and written exam
  • Post-offer: drug screen, psychological, and physical exams
  • Meet all state and city firearms and training standards
  • KLETC certification preferred (not required)

Veterans Preference Eligible (VPE):
Qualified veterans are guaranteed an interview and receive preference in hiring.

Pay Range

$22.73 – $28.49 per hour (DOQ)
