The City of Pratt, Kansas (pop. 7,000) is accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Officer. Officers work 12-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends.

Salary

  • Entry-Level: Approximately $25/hr
  • Lateral Entry: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to communicate proficiently
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Basic computer skills for transmitting data to police, fire, EMS, and other entities
  • Ability to meet environmental and physical demands of the position
Automatic Disqualifiers

Criminal History

  • Felonies: Any felony conviction
  • Misdemeanors: Violent crimes, sexual misconduct, crimes involving moral turpitude
  • Domestic Violence: Any conviction
Drug & Substance Abuse
  • Sale/Distribution: Any involvement in sale or manufacturing of illegal drugs
  • Recent Use: Recent use of illegal substances
