The Mulberry Police Department is accepting applications for Police Officers. The department is under new leadership.
Mulberry is a community with a population of appx. 400. The Department strives to keep the town safe, secure, and tidy for resident's and visitors. A large part of small town police duties is Ordinance enforcement.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, the Officers protect the life and property, and preserves order for the citizens of Mulberry. This position enforces all state and local laws, and investigates crimes and accidents. This employee should possess excellent communication, public relation, and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Patrols the streets, investigates suspicious conditions and complaints, arrest or give Notice to Appear in court to individuals who violate laws and ordinances, prepare and give testimony in court as the arresting officer, investigate and intervene in domestic disputes, direct traffic and issue citations for traffic law violations, answers citizen complaints and take necessary corrective action, performs animal control duties, prepares and completes reports, advise public about laws, ordinances and provide general information, operates all department equipment and firearms with extreme proficiency, assists other departments as the need arises, performs other duties as deemed necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School or GED
- United States Citizen
- 21 years of age
- KLETC certified officers preferred, but may consider training the right person
- Valid driver's license
Selection process includes a background check, psychological testing, drug screen, oral interview with the Chief and Governing Body
