The Morton County Sheriff's Office, in the Southwest corner of Kansas, is taking applications to fill two (2) vacant Deputy Sheriff positions. We seek proactive and dedicated career minded officers who can provide consistent law enforcement in a community where most residents know one another by first name.
The deputy role requires traditional uniformed patrol, traffic enforcement, accident response and investigation, civil and criminal proceedings, VIN inspection, jail operations, criminal investigation, and enforcement of all state, and local laws. Deputies must have high integrity and work ethic, be community focused, with dedication to the team effort.
Officers also provide patrol and first line law enforcement response upon the 108,000 acres of Cimarron National Grasslands, managed by the National Park Service.
Minimum Qualifications:

No Felony or disqualifying convictions

No Giglio/Brady impairments

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be at least 21 years of age

Pass a pre-employment background investigation and interview, drug test, pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation

Possess a high school diploma or GED
-
Possess a valid driver's license
-
Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

23.50 hr. uncertified / 25.50 hr. certified with minimal experience. Pay is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
