SEEKING OUTSTANDING CANDIDATES FOR POLICE OFFICERS

The Goddard Police Department serves a fast-growing community of approximately 7,500 residents along US-54 Highway at the western edge of Wichita, Kansas. With a staff of 17 full-time commissioned law enforcement officers and two civilian service officers, the Goddard Police Department responds to calls for service, assists citizens, enforces traffic laws, conducts criminal investigations, and processes crime scenes.

The department utilizes an investigative model where individual officers can retain ownership of their cases from the initial call to the final report, under the oversight from an experienced Investigations Sergeant. A department this size means the chief, the lieutenant, the sergeants, and the officers work the same calls together. Cooperation is not a thought, it’s just how the shift runs.

The department's operational philosophy is built upon three core values: just action, compassionate service, and humble leadership. With unique benefits such as take-home vehicles, a robust training budget and a new Goddard Justice Center building currently in development, the Goddard Police Department is the team great people seek to join.

Pay starts at $55,000 for non-certified and can be increased for experienced applicants. The City covers 100 percent of your health premium and around 80% of family. A residential requirement within a 30-minute response radius of Goddard.
