The Andover Police Department is a 29-sworn member, nationally accredited agency with strong community commitment and high integrity standards.  Officers enjoy state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, an on-site exercise facility, grooming standards that allow for beards and visible tattoos, and no residency requirement.  Officers also enjoy excellent benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, KP&F retirement, vacation, holidays, sick leave, and a corporate discount for a YMCA membership.

The starting wage for non-certified candidates is $21.00, increasing to $21.84 following initial training. Certified candidates can earn a starting wage of up to $23.50, depending on experience and qualifications. Officers can advance to Master Patrol Officer after two years of experience and completion of required training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications include, high school or GED diploma, 21-years of age at time of appointment, no criminal record, and able to pass; physical agility test, written aptitude test, truth verification test, extensive background check, interview board, drug screen, physical, and psychological testing.
