The starting wage for an applicant begins at $28.50 per hour (non-certified). Certified officers please ask.
Requirements:
- United States Citizenship
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Able to pass a thorough background investigation including state and national fingerprint checks.
- No felony convictions
- No domestic violence convictions, diversions, or expungements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good moral character
- Be able to complete a psychological evaluation to determine that the applicant does not have a mental or personality disorder that would adversely affect the applicant’s ability to perform the essential functions of a police officer.
- Be free of any physical or mental condition that might adversely affect the performance of a police officer’s duties.
Preference Given: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or Kansas Law Enforcement Certification.
