The City of Scott City is seeking Entry Level or Lateral Transfer applicants for the position of Police Officer. The Scott City Police Department is a modern, well equipped agency that serves a population of approx. 4,200.  Our schools are state of the art and just underwent a $25 million renovation.  We are comprised of nine officers, four dispatchers, one administrative assistant.  Our Department provides an opportunity to advance to positions such as Sergeant, Detective and K-9 Handler, and SRO.

TYPE:  Full Time
SALARY:  Starting pay ranges from $19.14(No experience) - $27.34 per hour based on experience with 100% city paid family medical insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave, funeral leave, KPERS as well as other benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be a legal US Citizen
Must possess a valid KS Driver's License
Have a High School diploma or GED
Possess good moral character
Cannot have any felony convictions
Cannot have serious misdemeanor convictions
No Brady/Giglio issues
