The Anthony Police Department has an immediate opening for a full-time police officer position. Our department is looking for a professional, motivated person with s rang moral character, who has an interest in protecting and serving he residents of a small farming community which takes great pride in its small- own feel. Applicants should possess a community-orien ing policing mindset and desire, and should possess excellent communica ion skills, both verbal and written.

The An hony Police Department is offering a $1,500 sign on bonus. A new hire will receive $500 dollars when hired and $1,000 after90 days.

The Anthony Police Department is authorized to staff 5 sworn positions including he Chief of Police. Our officers work rotating 12-hour shifts hat allow a 3-day weekend off every two weeks. The city of Anthony offers employees a benefits package, KPERS retirement, and first year employees accrue 16 hours of paid time off each month of employment. The department will pay for your attendance a he Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, and upon completion you will receive the opportunity for further advanced training as you progress in your career. But most importantly, working at a small-town police department affords you the opportunity to investigate a case from the firs dispatch to the jury trial. You will get he opportunity to respond to a wide variety of calls for service, investigate felony cases ranging from drug distribution to sex offenses, write and execute search warrants, and get to do it all while making strong connections with your community along the way.

Like most police positions, applicants will be required to work some weekends, holidays, day shift, night shift, and other varying special assignments dependent on need.

SALARY Starting salary is a minimum of $18.81.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications include, high school or GED diploma, 21-years of age at time of appointment, no criminal record, a valid Kansas driver's license, and the ability to pass a written aptitude test, extensive background check, interview board, drug screen, and psychological testing.
