    Minimum Requirements for the Position

    • Portray an assigned role. Stays in character, applies independent judgement within the scripted scenarios or ad-lib if directed. Utilizes creativity to make situations real in a training environment.
    • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructors.
    • Dress in appropriate apparel to the role.
    • Maintain satisfactory standards of competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity. Fraternization to include out of role conversations during role play on campus with KLETC basic students is prohibited.

    The Bel Aire Police Department is seeking a motivated community-oriented individual who has strong work ethics, morals and the desire to serve and help others to fill the position of Police Officer.  CPOST Certified Preferred.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    • The Police Officer position protects and serves the citizens of the City of Bel Aire by enforcing all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

    • Works under the general supervision of the Police Chief and other supervisory personnel.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Enforces all federal, state and local laws and ordinances.
    • Performs routine patrol duties and responds to traffic control duties.
    • Makes arrests and issues traffic citations.
    • Responds to emergency situations and calls for police service.
    • Prepares reports and official documents.
    • Interviews witnesses, suspects, and victims.
    • Executes warrants and serves legal documents.
    • Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
    • Cooperates with other public safety agencies and City departments as needed.
    • Acts as departmental liaison with other law enforcement and governmental agencies at the request of the Police Chief.
    • Investigates crimes and accidents.
    • Testifies in court.
    • Assist with the enforcement of health and zoning ordinances.
    • Seizes, preserves evidence; provides security to City facilities, personnel, and operations.
    • Ensures the effective operation of equipment and vehicles and ensures department compliance with applicable governmental rules and regulations.

    DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or GED. College Degree Preferred.
    • Must be 21 years of age.
    • No Felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
    • U.S. Citizen.
    • This position requires 40 hours of continuing education annually.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to operate basic law enforcement equipment such as radios, computers, and radar; Intoxilyzer certification is preferred.
    • Must be able to periodically qualify with firearms.
    • Familiar with the applicable laws, ordinances and department rules and regulations.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $24.17 - $34.15 per hour plus shift differential for 2nd & 3rd shifts.

    The Atwood Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. The Atwood Police Department consists of the Chief of Police, and two Police Officers. Our officers work rotating 10-hour shifts, with 2 out of every 3 weekends off.

    Atwood is the county seat of Rawlins County, Kansas, with a population of approximately 1290 residents. Rawlins County sits in the northwest corner of the state, offering easy access to Colorado and Nebraska. Highways US-36 and K-25 intersect in Atwood, with access to I-70 located approximately 30 miles south via K-25.

    The Butler County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of DETENTION DEPUTY for the Butler County Detention Facility. This is a full time, 12 hour shift position.

    The Butler County Detention Facility is an approximately 235 bed facility located in El Dorado, KS. In addition to housing local inmates, the Butler County Detention Facility also provides inmate housing for surrounding counties, US Marshal Service, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Detention Deputy is responsible for the daily management of inmates in a direct supervision environment while maintaining safety and security therein. Duties include but are not limited to; Documenting and maintaining records of inmate activities, addressing inmate requests, performing security checks, identifying and responding to safety/ security concerns, conflict resolution.

    TYPE:  Full Time

    SALARY:   The current starting rate is $20.52 an hour.  Nightshift receives an additional $1.00 per. hour.

    Deputies are eligible for a $1000 bonus upon the successful completion of training and 6 month evaluation, $500 at the completion of 9 months of service, and $500 at the completion of 12 months of service.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • No experience is required, although selected candidates are expected to achieve a level of proficiency within 6 months

    The Emporia Police Department is looking for individuals who are looking to “be the change” in our community.  Law enforcement is a fast-paced and exciting career field.  It requires someone to be able to work on their own and in a team environment.  We are looking for new recruits or lateral transfers.  The position of police officer performs duties in the protection of life and property and the preservation of order in the City of Emporia.  This position enforces all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances and assists with investigations.  Patrol duties include enforcing traffic laws, investigation of crimes and accidents, and providing public assistance. This employee will be required to exercise initiative and discretion when faced with emergency situations.

    As a police officer recruit the starting pay will be $21.42 per hour.  After one year of service, the pay increases to $25.70 per hour.

    Patrol Officer pay range - $25.70 to $40.62 per hour.

    Master Police Officer after 8 years of law enforcement experience.  Lateral transfer years of service will count towards Master Police Officer.

    Master Police Officer pay range – $32.82 to $51.87 per hour.

    Lateral transfer pay is based on experience.

    12-hour shifts with a built-in 4 hours of overtime per pay period.

    Associate’s Degree adds $.50 per hour to pay.

    Bachelor’s Degree adds $1 per hour to pay.

    Spanish bi-lingual adds $1 per hour to pay.
