    The Paola Police Department is currently searching for motivated individuals for the full-time position of Police Officer.  The city of Paola Is located 18 miles south of Olathe, Kansas and the Greater Kansas City Metro Area.  The Paola Police Department consists of 18 sworn officers and 7 civilian employees, as well as its own communications and detention centers.  Those selected to fill this position will be responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic crashes, assisting the public, and serving on a TEAM that takes great pride in serving and protecting its community.  State certified officers are preferred but not required.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire, must possess a valid driver’s license, must be in good physical condition, have no felony, serious misdemeanor, or domestic violence convictions, be a US citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, and must be able to pass a written and oral exam, physical fitness, physical exam, polygraph and psychological exam.

    Salary Patrol Officer starting at $24.50 Additional pay considerations available DOQ (Including but not limited to: college degree, military experience, bilingual, etc.) Other benefits include sick, vacation, and personal leave, furnished uniforms and equipment, health, dental, and life insurance plans, and Kansas Police & Fire (KP&F) retirement.

    The City of Garden Plain is seeking applications for the position of police officer. We are a community of 1000 population, when fully staffed we have two officers and the chief.  

    Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and have no felony convictions, no Brady/Giglio/Garrity background  or disqualifying criminal history. Fully commissioned/KCPOST certified preferred but will consider non-certified depending on pre-employment testing scores.

    Starting pay commensurate to qualifications of applicant/prior service. Non-certified wage starts at $20.00 per hour.  2024 pay plan is currently under study to commensurate with regional law enforcement salaries.  We offer personal time, vacation time, cell phone stipend and 11 paid holidays a year.     The City of Edwardsville, KS, a small but thriving community within the bustling Kansas City metro area, seeks a law enforcement professional, with command-level experience and a community-oriented policing philosophy, to serve as Chief of Police of its progressive Police Department. The expected salary range is $106,697 to $152,124.  

    Home to just under 4,700 residents, Edwardsville is situated in western Wyandotte County, just minutes from downtown Kansas City. Edwardsville is a city of the second class that operates under a mayor council-manager form of government featuring a governing body consisting of the mayor and 5 Council members elected at large. The Police Chief reports to the City Manager, who is responsible for the city's day-to-day operations and tasked with carrying out the city’s mission.  

    The Police Department has enjoyed long-standing, stable leadership and strong community support. Along with an annual budget of approximately $2.7 million, the department’s authorized strength includes 19 sworn officers and two non-sworn personnel. Sworn staff include the Chief of Police, one Captain, one Lieutenant, three Patrol Sergeants, two assigned Detectives, one K-9 Officer, and 10 patrol officers. Non sworn personnel include a community service officer and an executive assistant. The  Wyandotte County Communications Center provides dispatch services.  

    The successful candidate has the opportunity to lead a solid team of committed professionals and serve as an important member of the city’s executive leadership team. Specifically, this position entails the  proven ability to: Administer and supervise a comprehensive law enforcement program; Exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making key decisions during emergencies; Assure compliance with law enforcement best practices and procedures; Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected and appointed officials and other law enforcement agencies; Provide support and outreach to service and community organizations, private businesses, and the public; and, Strategically plan for law enforcement needs for the community. 

    Qualifications: Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job is qualifying. The most attractive candidates will possess the following: Ten (10) years of law enforcement command-level  experience, an earned Master’s Degree, Kansas Law Enforcement Certification or equivalent reciprocity  certification, and be a graduate of the FBI National Academy or a similar program. Residency is not  required, but encouraged.
