    The City of Garden Plain is seeking applicants for police officers.  Located on the west side of the Wichita metro area, the community is a growing suburb bedroom community, home to approximately 1,000 residents and the award-winning Renwick School District. 

    The ideal candidate will be a professional, proactive, and community-oriented individual.  Preference given to certified, experienced officers.  Must be 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, valid drivers license.  Subject to background checks and other testing as deemed necessary by the City.

    Smith County, Kansas Sheriff's Office has 3 immediate openings for the position of Sheriff's Deputy.

    The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has a rare opportunity available; we currently are accepting applications for highly motivated individuals to fill a Deputy Sheriff position.     We are a progressive law enforcement agency that employs (5) full-time sworn Sheriff Deputies, (5) Correction Officers, (1) part-time civilian employee.     The City of Yates Center KS is currently taking applications for Full Time (84 hours every two weeks) Police Officer to fill open positions within the department. The department is a four-officer department, with a family friendly environment.

    Yates Center is a city of approximately 1,300 people located in Woodson County, KS. Yates Center Police Officers may be required to work 12-hour shifts, holidays, nights and weekends as assigned.

    SALARY:  Entry level Police Officers can start at approximately $19.00/hr. with raises after graduation from KLETC, and a 90 probation, post-graduation.

    The McPherson County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a Full-time Deputy Sheriff,   12-hour shift position.     The City of Holton, KS is accepting applications for a full time Police Officer.  Chosen candidate should be self-motivated, community oriented, able to work with limited supervision and have the highest level of integrity. 

    The City of Holton is the county seat for Jackson County, KS. With a population of over 3,300 residents.  The city and surrounding area are home to 3 casinos, Holton’s Prairie Lake and Banner Creek Reservoir, offering plenty of opportunities and activities.  Holton is a bustling city on the US Highway 75 corridor about 25 minutes from Topeka.  

     Qualifications for this position:  Must be 21 years of age, U.S. Citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver’s license, be able to pass a background check, drug screen and psychological exam.  No Giglio/Brady issues, no domestic violence related convictions, KLETC certified or eligible for reciprocity preferred but not required for the right candidate.

    Residency requirement is as follows:  Must be willing to live or move within 30 minutes of the city of Holton.  For officers living within the city’s electric grid, roughly a 3-mile radius around the city, a take home car is available.

    The City of Belle Plaine, Kansas is accepting applications to fill the position of School Resource Officer/D.A.R.E. Officer for the 2024-2025 School Year. Under the supervision of the Chief of Police this position will serve as a School Resource Officer/D.A.R.E. Officer for the Belle Plaine School District USD 357. During periods when school is not in session this position will serve as Patrol Officer for the City of Belle Plaine. D.A.R.E Instructor (Officer) is for 5 th grade students (10 weeks) and 4 to 5 weeks of D.A.R.E Instruction for Kindergarten, 2 nd grade, 4 th grade. The City of Belle Plaine will cover D.A.R.E Training (14 days) expenses. The State of Kansas requires candidates for this position to have been a certified law enforcement officer for at least 2 years. The SRO officer will attend specialized training if the candidate has not completed the Basic Training for an SRO position.

    Hours may vary depending on school activities and the needs of the City during school breaks. The SRO is expected to attend all home football and basketball activities as well as other activities. A typical work day for an SRO is Monday –

    Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm.

    Successful candidates must be able to work with youth and serve as a positive role model for students. Candidates for this position must be professional and motivated, with a strong moral character and an interest in protecting and serving the students and staff of the Belle Plaine School District USD 357, and the residents of Belle Plaine. Candidates should possess a community-oriented mindset and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    7. Be of good moral character sufficient to warrant the public trust in the applicant as a police officer or law enforcement officer. No candidates with Brady/Giglio will be considered.

    8. Submit to an extensive background investigation including previous employment history, references (both listed and unlisted), criminal history, and driving record along with a psychological examination, physical examination, and drug screen.

    9. Possess the ability to satisfactorily complete all required initial/annual training certification and firearms testing and qualification and retain same throughout duration of employment.
