    This position primarily covers: Greeley, Wichita, Scott, Lane, Ness, Hamilton, Kearny, Finney, Hodgeman, Stanton, Grant, Haskell, Gray, Morton, Stevens, Seward and Meade Counties, but the incumbent could be deployed anywhere within the state as needed. Residency within the territory is preferred however, this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

    Conducts investigations to determine origin and cause of fires and explosions.

    Conducts criminal investigations into violations of the arson criminal code, including other criminal offenses that impel arson.

    Investigates, inspects and maintains accurate records on permits and/or licenses issued by the OSFM for those who apply for inspection of explosives and fireworks.

    Testifies in court as an expert.

    Conducts and attends training sessions.

    Performs administrative duties such as submitting reports and record keeping.

    Maintains and operates assigned state vehicle and equipment.

    Extensive travel, including overnight is required of this position.

    Position Salary/Benefits –

    Hourly Pay Rate: $30.16

    Annual Pay Rate: $62,732.80

    Requirements for Position –

    Licensing & Certification

    • Current certification as a full-time law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission as required by K.S.A. 74-5601a. Out of state certifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • Must complete certification as a Fire Investigator and a Hazardous Materials Technician prior to completing probation. 
    • Must have a current, valid driver's license.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age.
    • Five years' experience in general law enforcement and criminal investigation, with at least two years of that being felony-level investigative experience.
    • Must be free of any Brady issues.
    • This position requires the use of a firearm for law enforcement duties therefore, candidates cannot have been convicted of, and must be free of any diversions from, a felony or misdemeanor domestic violence crime as set forth in 18 U.S.C. § 922(d)(9) and (g)(9).   
    • Must be able to complete annual fitness for duty medical examinations and be free of any issues that would prevent using respiratory protective equipment.

    • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
    • Experience with fire and explosive investigations.
    • Experience in processing crime scenes and collecting evidence.
    • Experience with writing affidavits and submitting requests for search warrants.
    • Knowledge of court procedures and experience testifying in criminal matters. 
    • Experience in instructing and presenting to adult learners.

    Pratt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Deputy Sheriff

    DUTIES:

    Essential Duties Are: 

    Enforcement of State Law and County Resolutions.  Road officers will be responsible for Traffic enforcement, investigation of traffic accidents and criminal offenses, serving civil process and all other tasks as directed by the Sheriff.

    Position of Salary/Benefits: 

    Starting salary is $20.50 dollars an hour with no experience, Salary can be adjusted for Certified Officers with experience and training $21.00 to $27.50 per hour.   BCBS insurance and dental available through the County. County paid partial premium available packages vary.  Vacation and Sick time.     Brief Description of Duties: 

    The Police Officer is a non-exempt position under FLSA which protects and serves the citizens of Spring Hill. This position  provides citizen assistance, enforces all federal, state, and local laws, and performs patrol duties. Making arrests, issuing citations  for traffic violations, and investigating crimes and accidents are the primary responsibilities of the position. Collateral duties may  include, but not limited to; Field Training Officer, Coordinator of programs, K9 and/or Department Trainer. Police Officer at Step  2 and above may be eligible for consideration as a department investigator. This employee should possess excellent  communication and public relations skills. The position requires a valid Kansas driver’s license. 

    • Apply department orders, rules and regulations to police situations; understands and applies legal standards. • Operates patrol/unmarked vehicle in a safe and effective manner; inspects vehicle for safe and efficient operating condition, performs minor vehicle repairs as necessary; fuels and cleans vehicle.

    Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculation, use a computer touchscreen and manual keyboard as well as operate a 2-way  radio and radar equipment.     The Chief of Police reports directly to the Mayor, who serves as the Police Commissioner. This role is responsible for enforcing municipal laws, supervising department personnel, and investigating complaints and criminal activity with diligence and discretion. The Chief ensures the integrity of police operations and fosters public trust through professional conduct and transparent practices.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supervise all officers and personnel within the department.
    • Submit case data to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI).
    • Respond to emergency service calls.
    • Conduct criminal investigations.
    • Review officer case files prior to submission.
    • Oversee felony investigations conducted by patrol officers.
    • Serve as evidence custodian; maintain accuracy and security of all evidence.
    • Manage and oversee court software operations.
    • Act as custodian of police records under the Kansas Open Records Act.
    • Supervise Municipal Court proceedings.
    • Ensure departmental policies are current and followed.

    These responsibilities are essential to delivering safe, professional law enforcement services to the citizens of Haven.

    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and track officers’ continuing education and training hours.

    This is a certified law enforcement position for the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission at the Kansas Star Casino.

    The KRGC’s primary mission is to ensure that gambling at facilities with state owned casino games and pari-mutuel racetrack gambling is conducted with integrity. As a regulatory agency, our chief mission is to seek compliance. As a criminal justice agency, our charge is to enforce the law. We take these responsibilities seriously, and we require our licensees do as well.

    At the present time, all pari-mutuel licenses for horse and dog racing in Kansas have lapsed and been revoked.  No pari-mutuel racing has been conducted in Kansas since August 2008.  The KRGC is currently responsible for the regulation of the Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City, the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City and the Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel in Pittsburg.

    This is a certified law enforcement position for the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission at the Kansas Star Casino.

    Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

    • Monitors gaming activity by developing informants and observing gaming activities and gaming employees. Conducts on-site investigations and inspections of electronic gaming devices and other gaming equipment. Observes authorized and unauthorized individuals in the different areas of the facility. Conducts on-site internal control audits and compliance inspections and investigations.
       

    • Conducts background investigations including credit and criminal history records checks on applicants for licensure, utilizing interviewing and interrogation techniques that include reviewing financial statements and analyzing financial positions of individuals. Compile and complete background investigations that are sent to the Commission for licensing determination.
       

    • Investigates complaints of alleged violations of the Expanded Lottery Act, including regulatory violations and criminal violations. Drafts reports to document and communicate investigative findings by assembling information gained through investigations and interviews.
       

    • Make arrests, conducts searches and seizures and generally enforces all Kansas criminal laws. Appear and testify as a witness in court or administrative hearings. Coordinate criminal investigations and undercover investigations. Work with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies where crimes have occurred to coordinate investigations and prosecution in individual jurisdictions.
       

    • Assist the Topeka office in the investigation of white-collar crime and illegal gambling investigations. Help with the service of search warrants and seizing evidence related to these investigations. Compile reports and testify in court regarding the investigations.

    The KRGC’s primary mission is to ensure that gambling at facilities with state owned casino games and pari-mutuel racetrack gambling is conducted with integrity. As a regulatory agency, our chief mission is to seek compliance. As a criminal justice agency, our charge is to enforce the law.     At the present time, all pari-mutuel licenses for horse and dog racing in Kansas have lapsed and been revoked.  No pari-mutuel racing has been conducted in Kansas since August 2008.  The KRGC is currently responsible for the regulation of the Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City, the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City and the Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel in Pittsburg.

    • Conducts background investigations including credit and criminal history records checks on applicants for licensure, utilizing interviewing and interrogation techniques that include reviewing financial statements and analyzing financial positions of individuals. Compile and complete background investigations that are sent to the Commission for licensing determination.
       

    • Investigates complaints of alleged violations of the Expanded Lottery Act, including regulatory violations and criminal violations. Drafts reports to document and communicate investigative findings by assembling information gained through investigations and interviews.
       

    • Make arrests, conducts searches and seizures and generally enforces all Kansas criminal laws. Appear and testify as a witness in court or administrative hearings. Coordinate criminal investigations and undercover investigations. Work with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies where crimes have occurred to coordinate investigations and prosecution in individual jurisdictions.
       

    • Assist the Topeka office in the investigation of white-collar crime and illegal gambling investigations. Help with the service of search warrants and seizing evidence related to these investigations. Compile reports and testify in court regarding the investigations.

Must complete a basic law enforcement training program recognized by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission and obtain certification as a law enforcement officer from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission before being given permanent status. At time of appointment, candidate must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services and be required to pass a physical and psychological exam administered by the hiring agency. This position requires the use of a firearm for law enforcement duties and therefore, candidates cannot have been convicted of, and must be free of any diversions from, a felony or misdemeanor domestic violence crime as set forth in 18 U.S.C. § 922 (d) (9) and (g) (9)

    • Must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age.

    • The successful candidate must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, drug screening and polygraph.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • One (1) year of criminal investigative experience as a commissioned law enforcement officer within the past five years.

    • Three (3) years of general law enforcement experience.

    • Use of a computer terminal to access KCJIS / NCIC information.

    • Knowledge in interviewing suspects, victims and witnesses in criminal investigations.

    • Coordinate investigations with other Agents, other law enforcement / regulatory agencies and prosecutors. Licenses, certificates and registrations.

    The City of Beloit, Kansas, is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.  The City of Beloit offers small-town living, excellent public and private school systems, and a Technical College.     Department Description  

    The Hillsboro Police Department serves our community with dedication and professionalism. The department  includes a Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, Patrol Sergeant, two Full-Time Patrol Officers, and seven  Part-Time Certified Officers. Each full-time officer is provided with 100% of required equipment and issued a  

    take-home patrol vehicle—currently 2025 Ford Explorer Interceptors. Officers must reside within 30 minutes of  Hillsboro, though residency within the city is preferred. This department values collaboration, community  involvement, and ongoing training to ensure officers are well-prepared to serve the community.  

    Position Summary  

    Under the supervision of the Patrol Sergeant, the Police Officer is responsible for protecting life and property by  enforcing all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Primary duties include preventative patrol, traffic  enforcement, criminal and accident investigations, and providing assistance to citizens. The department operates  on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, allowing officers to work 7 out of 14 days per pay period, and have every  other weekend off. Overtime is paid beyond 86 hours per pay period.  

    Minimum Requirements
